If you use a camcorder with auto-focus, choose not to use this functionality whenever you can. It has happened to me lose focus and also a portion of the film consequently. This is possible for fixed materials such as paper, a piece of wood or a notebook. For jobs where there is more movement is required to use the auto-focus.
